Sudan Airways Issued its first E-ticket
To cope with the dynamic development in aviation industry and to conform with IATA simplifying the business program Sudan Airways the flag carrier of the Sudan has launched on Monday 16 July implementation of the first electronic ticket at Central Booking Office in Khartoum. The starting of the first non paper ticket cover the sector Khartoum – Port Sudan and the new system will be applicable to all SD routes gradually, and it is expected by end of 2007 to get rid of all traditional tickets.
The lunching ceremony was attended by the managing director Mr. Nasr Eldin Mohamed Ahmed who informed the attendants that steps of progress in the company will continue in all fields including IOSA requirements.

A300-600 Checked in Sudan (29/5/2007)
For the first time in the history of aviation in Sudan. The national carrier Sudan Airways score a great success in major maintenance (C check) to airbus 300-600
The cheek has been carried in Khartoum Airport by technicians and engineers of the company with out any foreign support. Engineer A.BAGI the Director of maintenance department in Sudan Airways released to the local press that the cheek was scheduled during the period 28 APR TO 28 MAY 2007 and the aircraft was ready for services on 29 May. He also added the preparation was started with qualifying and training of engineers and technicians for this purpose. And the cheek which is carried for the first time inside Sudan is approved by Civil Aviation authorities and the test of the A/C was on time Eng A .Bagi further elaborate on the success by saying, the C cheek has saved about one and half million US dollars to the company.
The mission of the maintenance was under close supervision of the managing director Mr. Nasr Eldin Mohamed Ahmed

   

Annual Sales Conference (26/5/2007)
During 26 and 27 of May 2007 Sudan Airways annual sales conference took place in Medani capital of Gezira state, under supervision of the Wali of Gezira general A.Rahmn Sir Elkhatim. The slogan of the conference is to continue Excellency from Gezira. The opening session was addressed by HE Minster of Cabinet and SD Board of director Mr. kamal A.Latif.
The conference involves submission of several working paper covering all activities of the company in domestic and international stations.
The conference was linked by video conference to the Head Quarter and was attended by many person from inside and outside with proposal and final recommendations to be endorsed by the managing director.

 

 

Dal Group visits SD premises (18/4/2007)
Senior executives from Dal Group visited SD head quarters and were briefed by the outstanding development in the field of Catering, Cargo, Ground Handling Services and Engineering.
The delegate discussed with SD management possible aspects of potential co-operation between the two parties.

 

 

 

SD celebrates and rewards travel agents. (17/4/2007)
Sudan Airways arranged the annual celebration on the occasion of rewarding the top ten travel agents who made remarkable sales for 2006.

Mr. Nasr Eldin Mohmed Ahmed Managing Director presented appreciation certificates and rewards plus package tours sponsored by SD to Addis Ababa and Cairo.
This celebration is arranged annually on the framework of joint efforts to promote commercial activities shared between SD and Travel Agents.

SFS commitment to Aviation, Quality and Safety

Sudan airways – Special Flight Services (SFS) has been awarded an international certificate as a user of the AQS©: CICC SAFETY SYSTEM. The score of certification which is given on the 9th of September 2006, in Passenger and Public Cargo Transportation operations. The certificate is signed by Captain Dr. John S. Henley chairman of the board of trustees for the International Institute of Aviation Quality and Safety (II AQS).  More information...

   

Sudan Airways Back to London (12-07-2006)
Sudan Airways was the first non British Airline to land at London airport in 1959 as agate to Europe. Nearly thirty years the company has grand father slots at Heathrow and the scheduled flight were up to six per week to facilitate the links and relations with Europe. The flights has been suspended for the last few years due to external factors.
After restructuring of the company and modernizing the fleet the decision has taken to resume the flights to London twice weekly Saturdays and Tuesdays as from July 15 now booking for London flights is accessible through all sales outlets and reservation channels.

The 3rd Airbus (A300-600) joined Sudan Airways fleet to support the Airline potential operation to some new destinations in Europe, middle and Far East.

 

 

Sudan Airways has added to its fleet an additional aircraft Airbus A300-600 (25-3-2006)
Sudan Airways has added to its fleet an additional aircraft Airbus A300-600 to help serving its new routes in the Far East, Europe and the region. The aircraft is configured in a tow class of 256 seats (20, 245) and equipped with modern entertainment system.

   



 

Sudan Airways Receives its 5th Fokker (F50) aircraft
The company has purchased one more Fokker (F50) aircraft to support its domestic schedule and charter requirements.
The charter flights market is sharply increasing due to the huge investment projects in different parts of the country and their associated influx of international investors and experts in addition to the VIP and official executives travel.
The number of the F50 fleet within the company has reached five.

 



A new Airbus A310-300 joins Sudan Airways fleet

As part of its fleet modernization programme the company has added an Airbus aircraft (A310-300) to its fleet to serve majorly on its international and regional routes.
