Sudan Airways – The national air carrier of the Sudan – has issued a press release which stated that: "As part of the government privatization programme two new investors will join the company's shareholders namely:
Aref Investment Group (Kuwaiti) strategic partner with 49% of shares and Faiha Holding Company (Sudanese) with 21% shares while the government will retain the rest 30% of shares.
The three parties are expecting a successful cooperation and a historic boost for the airline in all aspects.
The final destination in respect of the ownership is the transformation of Sudan Airways into a stock market company.
The press release covered the 3 year restructuring programme that started in 2004 which included the fleet modernization, the high punctuality record and the excellent performance of the company's core business and its profit centres.
