Sudan Airways – The national air carrier of the Sudan – has issued a press release which stated that: "As part of the government privatization programme two new investors will join the company's shareholders namely: Aref Investment Group (Kuwaiti) strategic partner with 49% of shares and Faiha Holding Company (Sudanese) with 21% shares while the government will retain the rest 30% of shares. The three parties are expecting a successful cooperation and a historic boost for the airline in all aspects.
The final destination in respect of the ownership is the transformation of Sudan Airways into a stock market company.
The press release covered the 3 year restructuring programme that started in 2004 which included the fleet modernization, the high punctuality record and the excellent performance of the company's core business and its profit centres.
Sudan Airways, Headquarter complex at Al Riyed block 10 Khartoum will embrace the signing ceremony on the 12th June 2007 at noon..
